We are delighted to update you on the progress of the Abayudaya Community Health and Development Plan. |
Be'chol Lashon Micro-Loan Completes the New Abaydaya Guest House

The new Abayudaya Guest House is almost complete. Architect and contractor Israel Siriri has created a beautiful structure with detailing, like the star of David on the ceiling in the lobby, reflecting the Abayudaya pride in Judaism.
“The guest house is located with the best view and many people will enjoy staying in it. In terms of economic independence, it is one of our community’s biggest achievements. I am very proud of it.”
-- Israel Siriri, Chairman, Abayudaya Executive Council
The community is in the final stages of furnishing the Guest House with a Be'chol Lashon micro loan. Isaac Byaki, the Guest House manager, is preparing to open for business soon.
The Namanyoni Well is Nearing Completion
The trenches have been dug to lay the pipes to bring water from the Namanyonyi well to the tap stands in the community. They will also go to the 5,000 liter storage tank located near the Namanyonyi Synagogue.
The Namanyoni well is in its final stages of completion. The final steps include: erecting the platform for water tank, building the enclosure for the bore hole, installing the submersible pump, and layouting the underground pipes and finally taking electricity to the site.
Construction will begin on the next borehole in Nangolo. Bringing water to these Abayudaya aids their survival.
“This is a very wonderful and good news to the people of Nangolo. We thank you and everyone who has contributed in these activities.”
-- JJ Keki, Chair of the Construction Committee

Pipes will run from the well to the storage tank located next to the Namanonyi Synagogue.
